The Opportunity
The Senior Associate, Portfolio Management and Monitoring supports the evaluation of
performance and quality of ImpactAssets’ various portfolios. Additional responsibilities may include supporting investment due diligence and investment selection for global and domestic investments across all asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will support the Direct of Portfolio Management in the following activities:
Portfolio Management functions for the ImpactAssets' Donor Advised Fund Platform:
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of investment portfolios and supporting investment allocation recommendations across impact themes, asset classes,
sectors, geographies and structures - Maintaining all aspects of ImpactAssets’ Public ESG-Screened Fund Platform, including
monitoring, due diligence and selection - Preparation of quarterly reporting and annual assessments for investment portfolios
- Coordinating with Investment Research, Investment Operations and Impact Team
members to execute investment transactions
Private Impact Investment Monitoring on behalf of IA Capital’s outside advisory clients:
- Review and analyze investee reporting for impact and financial performance
- Develop quarterly and annual investment assessments
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for Client meetings
Aggregate Portfolio Reporting and Investment Data Integrity:
- Ensure investment portfolio data is immaculately maintained in investment management software systems
- Aggregate key portfolio attributes for ImpactAssets’ entire portfolio
- Generate Portfolio Health reporting for ImpactAssets’ entire portfolio
- Act as the owner of porfolio stats used in internal and external communications and collateral
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for Investment Committee and Client meetings
Serve as back-up to the Director of Portfolio Management on Strategic Projects, including:
- Application Analysis and Selection Process for the ImpactAssets 50
- Data integration and release of ImpactAssets' annual Impact Report
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of 5 years' directly relevant experience in impact investing, private equity, private debt and/or investment banking
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related field; Masters preferred
- Portfolio management and investment analysis experience
- Experience conducting due diligence activities of public and private funds
- Knowledge of and passion for using investing as a means by which to engender positive impact
- Outstanding, demonstrated analytical, research and due diligence skills. Experience evaluating impact preferred.
- Proficiency with Addepar and Morningstar Direct preferred
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, experience using think-cell preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to do what it takes in a team environment
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize competing demands
- Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools Box and Asana preferred
- Experience working in a virtual working environment preferred
