Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Merger Integration & Carve-Outs team within Private Equity Performance Improvement. You will contribute to large, high‑profile deals through integration planning, synergy development, and execution support across pre‑deal reviews to post‑close actions.

The role requires 4–6+ years of consulting experience with a focus on merger integration, change management, and finance/H.R. domains. Travel up to 75% is expected.

  • MBA preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel at least 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, supplementing standard assessment techniques with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analysis, and developing recommendations within the engagement context.
  • Assist with workstreams or focus area within the Integration Management Office (IMO)—Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness, Executive Reporting, Integration Roadmap, Communications, Organizational Design—depending on deal size.
  • Support Day 1 and Day 100 planning, execution, and performance improvement in key areas: strategic planning, operational optimization, back office consolidation, supply chain, IT/reporting integration, customer and channel management.
  • Drive performance improvement assessments across an enterprise and participate in implementing recommendations.
  • Track progress against Day 1 and Day 100 objectives and adjust integration strategies or personnel as required.

Merger Integration & Carve‑Outs: Build Your Expertise

Join A&M PEPI’s MI&C team to develop operational skills. You will be involved throughout the lifecycle of large, complex, high‑profile deals. The service line offers a structured, disciplined approach to create and capture value for corporate and equity buyers across mergers, acquisitions, carve‑outs, joint ventures, and alliances. We cover the full deal lifecycle from pre‑deal operational and synergy reviews to “Day 1” planning and post‑deal implementation, including due diligence, integration management office, synergy, TSA, planning, day‑one readiness, and post‑close execution.

Senior Associate Responsibilities
  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, supplementing standard assessment techniques with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analysis, and developing recommendations within the engagement context.
  • Assist with workstreams or focus area within the Integration Management Office (IMO)—Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness, Executive Reporting, Integration Roadmap, Communications, Organizational Design—depending on deal size.
  • Support Day 1 and Day 100 planning, execution, and performance improvement in key areas: strategic planning, operational optimization, back office consolidation, supply chain, IT/reporting integration, customer and channel management.
  • Drive performance improvement assessments across an enterprise and participate in implementing recommendations.
  • Track progress against Day 1 and Day 100 objectives and adjust integration strategies or personnel as required.
Qualifications
  • 4–6 + years of professional consulting experience, specializing in merger integration, business transformation, and change management.
  • Experience in integration planning and divestitures is a plus.
  • Deep functional expertise in at least one of the following areas: Finance & Accounting operations; HR/Organizational design; Role and Job Analysis; Leadership and Stakeholder Involvement; Communications planning and management; Knowledge Management and Transfer; Planning revenue growth and profitability growth initiatives; Program management and leadership; Designing and executing internal and external change/communications strategies.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and drive; critical thinking; flexibility to travel at least 75 % of the time.

Benefits Summary

Full‑time and part‑time positions (over 30 hours) are eligible for A&M fringe benefits which include healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a discretionary annual contribution. Eligible employees receive paid time off including vacation, personal days, 72 hours of sick time (prorated for part‑time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. Additional benefits information is available by request.

Salary range is $100,000 – $170,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
