This role supports the design and development of electronic packaging solutions for aerospace and defense systems. Types of systems may include interconnect cabling and harnessing, flight electronics boxes and associated printed wire boards, and electrical ground support and test equipment. The position focuses on integrating electronic components into mechanically robust assemblies that support thermal, environmental, weight, and size requirements, while working with a cross‑functional team to solve practical engineering challenges.

Essential Functions
  • Perform technical design tasks and prepare detailed engineering documentation, with guidance from experienced engineers, for electro‑mechanical equipment used in flight hardware. Electro‑mechanical equipment includes ruggedized enclosed electronic equipment, cables, printed wire boards (PWBs), circuit card assemblies (CCAs), mechanical components, and support equipment.
  • Assist with updating design documentation through notice of revision (NOR) and tracking engineering changes through product data management (PDM) systems.
  • Support production, manufacturing, and integration activities through investigation and troubleshooting of engineering change requests (ECRs), build issues, and non‑conformance concerns, while working with cross‑functional teams to help identify solutions.
  • Work with Integrated Product Teams to support execution of assigned tasks within established schedules and program priorities.
  • Work from higher‑level documentation and customer requirements to support technical design activities, and participate in internal design reviews with guidance from experienced engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, Graduate Degree with 0–2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience with Creo Parametric, including Cabling and Harness / Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Creo Piping and Intralink.
  • Experience resolving production and non‑conformance related issues.
  • Experience with PWB design for high‑density designs.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and generating detailed engineering drawings.
  • Ability to review and interpret cable / harness schematics and interconnect diagrams.
  • Familiarity with reading schematics for electrical cable assemblies to help define and select connectors, backshells, splices, wiring, and related hardware.
  • Familiarity with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non‑technical professionals at all levels.
  • Experience using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
