Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Senior Associate in Carlsbad, CA to design, develop, and qualify mechanical systems within a multidisciplinary team. You will work on 3D modeling, hardware documentation, analysis, integration, and testing while collaborating across disciplines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree with related experience or equivalent, and offers exposure to DoD programs with potential clearance. Salary ranges in California are posted, along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Experience in the design, development, and/or production of mechanical systems for the Aerospace and/or Defense industries.
• Understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with CAD tools and PLM systems.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and access to U.S. Government/customer facilities.

• Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems
• Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems
• Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews
• Coordinate with manufacturing and quality engineering to ensure hardware is producible and inspectable.
• Adhere to company processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, etc.

Position Overview

• In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $76,000 - $141,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
