The Senior Associate, Investment operations plays an essential role in providing the day-to-day operational support for the Investment Portfolio. This role will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with onboarding of new reinsurance deals into the Investments Operational infrastructure by creating new portfolios, ensuring portfolio mapping is in place, loading assets into system, etc.
  • Assist with onboarding of new asset managers.
  • Prepare post trade compliance reports to ensure adherence to Reinsurance and Investment Manager guidelines.
  • Provide Operational support for the Alternatives portfolio including preparation of subscription documents, creating new portfolios, ensuring transaction capture in books and records, monitoring of capital calls and distributions, executing cash wires.
  • Provide operational support for the derivative asset class, including preparation of system-to-system reconciliation of trades, positions, and security master data, as well as reconciling books and records to counterparty statements to ensure margin movements are booked correctly.
  • Work with Clearwater to ensure transaction and positions are correct in the system.
  • Support the Data Governance by assisting in defining key Investment data fields and supporting Investments Team as new data requirements arise. Data Stewardship Review daily data quality checks within Datalake.
  • Identify additional automated controls needed to improve investments data quality.
  • Research breaks and resolve data issues Liaise with appropriate parties to resolve data issues.
  • Assist in development of automated reports and dashboards to facilitate the manager of the investment portfolio and the sharing of information with key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the integration of data from new asset classes or managers into Fortitude’s investments data architecture. Address ad-hoc inquiries relating to data, investment activities, etc.

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of investment, accounting and/or data analysis experience Previous experience in investment operations is advantageous
  • Data technical expertise with Microsoft Office projects, SQL, Python and other coding languages strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working in fixed income and derivative markets is preferred
  • Subject matter expertise regarding fixed income assets, financial markets

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
