Job summary

Principal Asset Management in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Senior Associate, Investment Accountant to support private debt fund reporting and financial oversight across fund accounting, investor reporting, audits, and tax.

You will work with investment teams, fund administrators, auditors and tax professionals, performing monthly close, financial statement prep, reconciliations, and investor deliverables; 2+ years of accounting and strong U.S. GAAP knowledge required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of accounting experience required
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP required

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review fund-level financial statements, investment reporting, reconciliations and schedules.
• Support monthly fund close activities and investigate variances.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax providers, fund administrators and internal partners.
• Support investor reporting including capital activity and statements.
• Help manage audit requests, workpapers, reporting deadlines and other fund accounting activities.
• Take increasing ownership of accounting and reporting processes.
