Presbyterian Homes & Services in Roseville, MN seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide labor and employment counsel and broad in-house legal support. You will collaborate with HR, manage regulatory matters, and help steer risk management across the enterprise, reporting to the General Counsel.

The role emphasizes practical, risk-informed guidance, strong judgment, and leadership in coordinating outside counsel and enterprise initiatives while upholding PHS values and mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and JD required.
• Licensed and admitted to practice law in Minnesota, or eligible for prompt admission or registration.
• Minimum of five years of relevant legal experience, with in-house, healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or similar regulated industry preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research, document management, and related legal technology.
• Ability to prioritize matters, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation at the direction of the General Counsel in labor and employment matters, as well as other litigation and dispute resolution, including general and professional liability, commercial, construction, collections, and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with Human Resources leadership on all areas of employment and labor matters, including advice, investigations, compliance, policies, claims, and charges.
• Advise on resident relations matters, including resident care matters, resident conduct, claims, and housing matters.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, including monitoring developments, licensure, credentialing, policies, investigations, and contested matters.
• Support risk management by identifying, assessing, escalating, and mitigating legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risk, including insurance, risk assessments, policies, and training, with emphasis on enterprise risk on sensitive topics.
• Maintain ownership of assigned legal matters from intake through resolution, including assessment, prioritization, documentation, stakeholder communication, follow-up, and timely escalation to the General Counsel.
