The attorney will guide workforce initiatives, manage outside counsel, and shape policies, trainings, and investigations to protect the company and advance business goals.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor is required from an accredited law school.
• Active state bar membership; Michigan or Indiana preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of labor and employment law experience.
• Experience managing litigation, government agency matters, and outside counsel.
• Experience with wage-and-hour, employee benefits, immigration, and I-9 compliance.
• Travel to manufacturing facilities and company locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to executive leadership on U.S. labor and employment law matters.
• Translate complex legal requirements into practical guidance for internal stakeholders.
• Proactively address labor and employment risks to support business objectives.
• Support plant launches, ramp-ups, restructurings, and workforce transitions.
• Advise on joint ventures, employee leasing, secondees, and governance matters.
• Counsel on NLRA issues, union organizing, representation, and workplace communications.
• Support collective bargaining, first contracts, grievances, and contract administration.
• Draft employment policies, training materials, and employee communications.
