Job Summary

The Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations, Relationship Management is a key member of the employer relations team in Career Services. This person works with broad employer relations team to cultivate and sustain relationships with companies that have established campus recruiting relationships with Chicago Booth, with a specific focus on a core set of industries, including investment banking and firms in the financial services space.

The individual will work with companies to develop and execute recruiting and branding strategies that meet our corporate partners’ talent-sourcing goals and help develop comprehensive strategies for Booth’s engagement with firms. Duties include travel, approximately 20-30%, to meet with recruiting teams and campus contacts, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external constituencies while promoting employer relations initiatives; planning and managing career services events related to companies/industries; coordinating campus and invite-only events with recruiting teams; conducting analysis on campus recruiting data; developing communication pieces.

Responsibilities

  • Participates as an active member of the Employer Relations team to implement year-round marketing strategies to generate employment opportunities for Booth students and alumni, using alumni listings, referrals from students, job postings, industry conferences, and other sources, and market these opportunities to the appropriate Booth constituency. Employs knowledge of all Chicago Booth constituencies and resources to develop recruiting and branding strategies that meet corporate partners’ talent sourcing goals.
  • Manages all aspects of campus recruiting for approximately 50 companies. Coordinates campus interviews and presentations, as well as all other campus recruiting activities and Booth coordinated in-person and virtual events. Key industries in the scope of responsibility include consulting, healthcare, consumer goods, retail, hospitality, and agribusiness.
  • Initiates and participates in employer meetings within your industry focus, in person and via teleconference, including and engaging other Chicago Booth departments when appropriate.
  • Partners with team members, international Employer Relations colleagues, Career Management, and Corporate Relations to share company and industry knowledge. Markets Employer Relations activities and opportunities to internal and external constituencies through CRM systems, targeted messages to students, conference calls and participation in Career Services programming.
  • Leads Employer Relations partnership with investment banking student groups.
  • Represents Booth at peer school meetings and conferences, specifically in the realm of investment banking and financial services recruiting.
  • Manages campus recruiting processes and ensures access for eligible students across MBA programs, particularly those with a focus on investment banking. Collaborates with Specialized Master’s Program office to identify opportunities for MiM and MiF students to engage with appropriate opportunities.
  • Plans and manages various Career Services initiatives, including networking events and industry panels. Proactively identifies and develops new opportunities through which to increase the visibility of new companies and in turn increase student awareness of new companies or niche industries. Identifies and recruits employers and corporate representatives for Career Services events and provides additional event management support.
  • Remains an active participant on the Employer Relations team by maintaining current and timely outreach records and communicating regularly with team members. Participates in weekly Career Services staff meetings and other team discussions/events, requiring travel to other Chicago Booth campuses.
  • Mentors and trains junior staff around campus recruiting business processes, activities, systems, and events.
  • Partners with various internal and external constituencies on behalf of Career Services including student groups, alumni clubs, Admissions, Alumni and Development, Executive Education, Student Program offices, Booth alumni, faculty centers, and corporate partners in order to effectively and creatively engage contacts and companies.
  • Leads assigned strategic initiatives, possibly including activities such as metrics / dashboards, engagement tracking, and recruiter partnerships.
  • Analyzes markets and trends as they relate to job searches. Assesses student feedback and evaluations and collaborates with other career services staff members, student organizations, or other staff to determine program offerings and innovations.
  • Researches organizations that are hiring and partners with a wide variety of employers to ensure recruitment strategies meet their needs. Maintains contact with a portfolio of employers to serve as their dedicated Career Advancement liaison.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Education:

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Master's degree in business or related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum seven years of experience with, knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in business careers.
  • Prior experience in higher education environment.

Technical Skills Or Knowledge:

  • Significant knowledge of and experience using on-line resources, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

Working Conditions

  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
  • Travel up to 20-30% within the US to meet in person with employer contacts.
