Senior Associate, Digital Laboratory Solutions

The Senior Associate, Digital Laboratory Solutions supports the laboratory environment at Pfizer’s Bothell, WA R&D labs. Working closely with laboratory scientists, the role will support all digital technology in the laboratory, including PCs and specialized lab equipment.

This position involves participating in projects such as deploying and upgrading enterprise and instrumentation-specific software, and installing and configuring servers and databases.

The role collaborates with peers across the Digital Laboratory Solutions organization to ensure adherence to global standards and may involve global projects.

Work will be executed individually or in teams, leveraging technical and subject matter expertise to achieve results.

Role Responsibilities
  • Act as a key technical contact for Digital Laboratory Solutions at Pfizer’s R&D labs in Bothell, WA.
  • Collaborate with local and global stakeholders to understand, document, and support laboratory data workflows.
  • Communicate actively and proactively with laboratory staff regarding changes or incidents.
  • Perform system administration duties for lab hardware and information systems.
  • Manage local projects and coordinate global initiatives relevant to the site.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for outsourced service providers supporting lab environments.
  • Implement and support workflows for laboratory systems, including computer, OS, security, compliance, and data management.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with three years of experience in digital laboratory solutions; or a Master’s degree with one year; or an Associate's degree with six years; or eight years of relevant experience with a high school diploma.
  • Understanding of systems supporting chromatography, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, sequencing, etc.
  • Knowledge of lab data management practices.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in multi-tier application architecture deployment and support.
  • Knowledge of security practices and cloud services impacting lab systems.
  • Scripting or software development experience.
  • Strong Windows and Linux administration skills.
  • Understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS.
  • Experience with vendors such as Waters, Agilent, Thermo Fisher.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to carry desktop computers and maneuver around lab equipment.
Work Schedule and Travel
  • May require work outside normal hours and travel to other R&D sites.
Additional Details
