Description

The Associate Designer or Senior Associate Designer will assist with various design projects under the direction of the Team Lead, including the Principal, Design Director, and/or Senior Designer, This role involves providing support to the design team, maintaining the sample library, and ensuring smooth project operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with a large number of projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare CFAs, manage ordering follow-up, memo returns, and sampling.
  • Create Construction Drawings, sketches, and specifications.
  • Prepare for site visits, take site measurements, and photos.
  • Develop lookbooks and schedules.
  • Create items and proposals in Studio Designer.
  • Assist with client presentations and note-taking.
  • Create drawings in Sketchup and Layout.
  • Manage work order creation and follow-up.
  • Assist with installations.
  • Manage design department filing and binder upkeep.
  • Run errands and provide general Designer and Expeditor assistance.
  • Track project and BLI time using Clockify.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of products and services from vendors.
  • Participate in networking, client lead generation, and marketing opportunities.
  • Attend design classes, seminars, and training.
  • Initial client setup including binders, files, lookbook, selection sheet, project management sheet, and custom room list.
  • Proactive communication with clients and team members.
  • Produce conceptual sketches, floor plans, sources, vendor options, materials, colors, and all conceptual options.
  • Assist in creating client investment allocations and detailed project budgets.
  • Research, design, and source all items necessary for projects.
  • Prepare presentation documentation and materials.
  • Assist with quoting and implementation of concepts.
  • Create detailed specifications and manage CFAs.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the design process including specification of materials, FF&E, and project management.
  • Experience or proficiency in Google Suite, Studio Designer, SketchUp, Layout, and Adobe Creative Suite, Clickup (or similar), Clockify (or similar), Programa.
  • Desire and ability to work in a creative, service-oriented environment and prioritize while performing on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Detail oriented and accuracy of documentation and drawings.
  • Resilient to coping with project demands & able to prioritize duties and work effectively.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design.
  • Commercial and residential interior design experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and building systems.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in the interior design field.
