Senior Associate, Dasher & Logistics - Cost Strategy & Operations

New York, NY; Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Washington, D.C.; Chicago, IL; Sunnyvale, CA; Phoenix, AZ

About the Team

DoorDash’s Commerce Platform empowers merchants with the tools they need to grow and operate their businesses—both in-store and online. Drive On-Demand is a key component of this platform, providing white-label fulfillment solutions for merchants across verticals such as Grocery, Convenience, Retail, Alcohol, Health, and more.

The Commerce Platform Logistics team is a sustainable growth team within Commerce Platform. Within the Commerce Platform Logistics team, we own cost and quality for the Non-Restaurant (NonRx) business—ensuring that DoorDash Commerce Platform is the most cost effective, reliable way for merchants to reach as many customers as possible through their first-party channels. This means expanding product offerings and improving network efficiency to simultaneously reduce fulfillment costs and unblock growth for merchants while providing Dashers with valuable earnings opportunities.

About the Role

At DoorDash, our goal is to empower local economies. A key part of that mandate is to improve fulfillment efficiency and costs to allow more merchants to scale e-commerce channels. We are looking for a leader with an “and not either/or” mindset who is passionate about driving sustainable growth. As a Senior Associate, Strategy & Operations – Delivery Cost, you will play a key role in analyzing, tracking, and improving fulfillment cost and efficiency, partnering with cross-functional teams to identify trends, scope impactful initiatives, and support the execution of network efficiency improvement strategies.

Your work will be both strategic and deeply operational. One day, you might be sizing the impact of a change to how we batch orders. The next day, you could be deep diving an escalation from a merchant or dasher and leading an experiment to drive real-world improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Finance & Strategy to track and analyze fulfillment cost metrics across different lines of business and strategic merchants.
  • Support the development of internal reporting tools to measure and monitor fulfillment cost and efficiency improvement efforts.
  • Partner with Analytics and Product teams to scope and assess initiatives that can improve fulfillment cost and efficiency.
  • Assist in structuring and executing operational tests to learn quickly and inform the product roadmap.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support initiatives that enhance merchant and customer experience.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Support fulfillment cost initiatives that tangibly improve the profitability of DoorDash.
  • Analyze key fulfillment cost metrics and contribute to defining north star metrics that track performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance & Strategy, Product, Analytics, Engineering, and Operations) to manage the P&L and identify key levers for fulfillment cost improvement.
  • Run structured experiments and operational tests to uncover the best ways to improve fulfillment cost and efficiency.
We’re excited about you because…
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to identify trends, uncover root causes, and drive informed decisions.
  • Comfort with data—Deep Excel/Google Sheets modeling; SQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience creating financial models.
  • Execution-focused with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps.
  • Thrives in a cross-functional environment and collaborates with Finance & Strategy, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations teams.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong data-tracking capabilities.
  • Bias for action and ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Customer- and merchant-obsessed and excited to help merchants scale their first-party fulfillment through Drive On-Demand.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
