We are looking for talented individuals with solid foundational knowledge of computer science, system design, and computer security to join our Complex Digital Events (CDE) group within the Cyber & Data Resilience Practice as a Senior Associate! As a Senior Associate in CDE, you will conduct deep technical analyses of digital evidence from a wide array of systems, prepare written and verbal summaries for clients, collaborate to share knowledge and tooling with internal teams, and continually invest in personal and career growth opportunities. You will work alongside highly motivated, deeply technical, and accomplished senior staff, enhancing your own DFIR and security expertise, and delivering excellent service across DFIR and hybrid complex engagements for a global network of clients.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Deliver complex investigations requiring strong technical and analytical skills, including in support of potential or active litigation.
  • Support engagement leaders to effectively run matters from start to finish by delivering results reliably and consistently, effectively managing time and resources, and presenting actionable findings and remediation advice.
  • Monitor quality of own work, seek and act upon constructive feedback, and continually raise the bar for value delivered to clients.
  • Identify own learning needs and opportunities, and continually seek to improve personal growth and performance.
  • Communicate regularly to senior members of the team, bringing case issues and findings to attention of appropriate personnel for resolution, decision making, and learning.
  • Support the development of colleagues through mentorship, information sharing, and ensuring Kroll’s high standards are met at all times.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (consisting of utilization rates and personal objectives).
Essential Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year of experience in digital forensics, incident response, technical investigations (including analysis of root cause and downstream effects), or other relevant experience establishing foundational investigative skills.
  • Major or minor-level college course work, or relevant internship/work experience, in software development, system design or architecture, electrical engineering, cryptography, or related technical fields.
  • Proficiency with reading and writing Python or a similar programming language without the use of LLM-based tooling. You will have access to LLMs, but these skills must apply without them.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks across multiple cases concurrently, often under tight deadlines.
  • Highly self-motivated, follows broader security trends, and pursues personal and career growth opportunities outside of working hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in particular with communicating technical concepts to non- or less-technical audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time if needed, largely within the continental United States.
  • Fluency in English is required.
Desired Qualifications
  • GitHub or other source forge containing example personal projects from the last 1-2 years.
  • SANS GCFE, GCFA, GREM, or similar certifications or training in the last 1-3 years.
  • Clarity of thought and expression to win confidence from key stakeholders and colleagues.
