Job description

Who We Are

Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a global nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. With 30 years of internationally recognized expertise on climate policy and a fierce commitment to exploring all potential solutions, CATF is a pragmatic, non-ideological advocacy group with the bold ideas needed to address climate change. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington, D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Associate, Communications and Marketing supports CATF’s Communications and Marketing and Events teams through project coordination, content development, editorial support, media relations support, digital communications, and shared team systems. You’ll help keep communications projects and resources organized while contributing to the content and tools CATF uses to communicate its work. This is a full-time, remote U.S.-based position with the flexibility to work from within the United States and the ability to work typical Eastern Time Zone business hours. Occasional travel is required.

The role is designed for a communications professional who wants to build broad experience while helping a global communications function work effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination & Team Operations – Coordinate communications projects, meetings, shared resources, and tracking tools; prepare agendas; track action items; and help teams maintain clear and useful files and systems.
  • Editorial & Content Development – Draft, proofread, and edit select press releases, reports, blogs, newsletters, and other communications, working with communications managers to maintain consistent, accurate content.
  • Brand & Communications Standards – Maintain internal communications resources, including style guides, templates, brand guidelines, onboarding materials, and communications and marketing training resources.
  • Media Relations Support – Support media monitoring and reporting, maintain media lists and engagement records, and research relevant reporters and outlets in coordination with communications managers.
  • Digital Communications – Support social media marketing efforts and assist with maintaining website content and other digital communications as needed.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration – Work across Communications and Marketing, Events, and other teams to coordinate work, maintain shared resources, and support effective follow-through.
What You’ll Bring

You’re a strong writer and editor who can keep projects organized while working across several areas of communications. You’re comfortable learning new systems, coordinating with colleagues in a remote environment, and taking ownership of the details that help work move forward. You bring sound judgment, strong collaboration skills, and an interest in CATF’s mission.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related role.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with media monitoring and reporting analytics, media engagement, press list management, and customer relationship management tools such as MuckRack.
  • Digital fluency and knowledge of project management platforms.
  • Familiarity with website and social media content management and digital communications platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively within and across teams.
  • Interest in and commitment to CATF’s mission.
What We Provide

You’ll contribute to how CATF communicates its work to accelerate climate solutions while supporting the systems and coordination that help its Communications and Marketing and Events teams operate effectively.

  • A mission-driven role supporting CATF’s climate communications work.
  • Opportunities to collaborate across Communications and Marketing, Events, Development, and program teams.
  • A collaborative environment that brings together colleagues working across different areas of CATF.
  • A flexible remote working environment within the United States, with the ability to work typical U.S. East Coast hours.
