Job summary

World Economic Forum in New York (hybrid with Geneva) seeks a Senior Associate for City Strategy and Ecosystem Engagement. The role supports Yes/Cities, identifying opportunities with cities and connecting priorities to Forum programmes, industries, partners, and initiatives.

You will build relationships with city leaders, map opportunities, develop business cases, and coordinate cross-Forum efforts. Requires 4+ years in city strategy or public-private partnerships, and strong English

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant experience in city strategy, government engagement, public-private partnerships, ecosystem development or related field.
Experience working with cities, governments, public institutions or place-based partnerships.
Strong understanding of how economic development, infrastructure, workforce, resilience and public-sector decision-making shape city priorities.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a prioritized list of ~20–30 cities for Yes/Cities engagement.
Build relationships with mayors and senior city leaders; engage government departments.
Connect city priorities to Forum industries, Centres and initiatives; support proposals and business cases.
Assess city readiness; develop city qualification criteria and engagement standards.
Coordinate with Global Network and regional leads to transition opportunities into engagement.
