Job summary

CFOx is seeking a Senior Associate to join our CFO & Accounting Services group. You will work closely with Directors and VPs to deliver strategic financial insights, drive operational improvements, and support growth initiatives for middle-market clients, including PE-backed and founder-owned businesses.

Engagements include fractional/interim CFO, post-M&A transitions, historical clean-up, FP&A, and month-end close. Hybrid work from one of three offices is available.

Qualifications

• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills are required.
• Experience communicating findings and recommendations to clients.
• Leadership and collaboration with directors and VPs on engagements.

Responsibilities

• Support CFO & Accounting Services engagements through financial analysis, modeling, diligence support, and client-facing workstreams.
• Prepare accurate, well-structured client deliverables, analyses, and reports that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Directors and Vice Presidents to execute engagement plans, meet deadlines, and address client needs proactively.
• Assist in developing and improving internal processes, procedures, and templates to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Continue to build technical, analytical, and client service skills while demonstrating ownership and increasing independence.

Position Overview

CFOx is an advisory firm that specializes in CFO, Transaction, and Accounting Services for the middle-market. We work with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, founder-owned businesses, investment banks, and investors nationwide.

Our CFO & Accounting Services group primarily serves middle-market private equity-backed companies and founder-owned businesses that need CFO & Accounting services to scale, gain visibility into their business, or/and prepare for a transaction.

CFOx is looking for a Senior Associate to work closely with our Directors and Vice Presidents to provide strategic financial insights, drive operational improvements, and support growth initiatives of our clients. This role requires an understanding of private equity environments, strong accounting & financial acumen, and exceptional leadership skills.

Typical engagements include:

• Fractional or Interim CFO
• Post M&A transaction integrations and transitions
• Historical accounting clean-up
• Accounting processes, procedures, and systems implementation
• Financial planning & analysis (FP&A)
• Accounting services (i.e.: month-end close, financial statement preparation, bill pay)

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of public accounting and/or corporate finance experience
• Previous audit experience is preferred
• CPA license is preferred
• Bonus: Discretionary (Target: 10-20%)
