The Senior Associate Benefits Professional applies forward-looking, innovative thought to strategy, design and delivery to help position the company as an employer-of-choice in the present and future. The Senior Associate Benefits Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Associate Benefits Professional utilizes deep understanding of contemporary practice and the associate community to develop and implement competitive benefit opportunities that contribute to associates and emphasize perceived value while balancing expense and business requirements, including regulatory compliance. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors administering employer health and welfare benefit programs.
  • Responsible for overseeing vendor governance for assigned vendors, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and performance standards
  • Coordinate regular reviews and assessments of vendor services to identify areas for improvement and support business objectives
  • Collaborate with the broker to develop and review plan strategy, evaluate pricing options, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and monitor the overall performance of welfare benefit programs.
  • Negotiate vendor renewal pricing and service agreements to achieve cost-effective and high-quality outcomes
  • Develop, implement, and monitor leave policies and related programs in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, manage timelines, and deliver on complex initiatives within established deadlines
  • Resolve escalated issues, facilitate problem resolution, and ensuring prompt follow-up on outstanding concerns.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in evaluating benefits utilization, cost trends, and program effectiveness
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all Humana personal time off policies and short-term and long-term disability plans

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or 3+ years of equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive and proven experience in employee benefits administration, with a focus on health and welfare plans, leave policies, and vendor management
  • Strong experience in contract negotiation, vendor performance evaluation, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team coordination and cross-functional collaboration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel when presenting to various audiences and Leadership structures
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possible travel 5-10% based on business discretion and need

The workstyle for this role is work-at-home.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$78,400 - $107,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
