Job summary

Capital One is seeking an energetic Senior Staff Auditor to join the Audit Operations and Reporting team in McLean, VA. This role focuses on driving data-powered assurance, enhancing cross-functional processes, and delivering high-value reporting for Audit committees and executives.

You will collaborate with technology, risk, and audit teams to maintain data quality and implement process improvements across the department.

Qualifications

• Experience auditing, accounting, risk management or data analytics.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or CISA.
• 2+ years in banking or financial services industry.
• 2+ years of data analytics using Tableau or similar tools.
• Strong communication and partnership skills across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute internal operational processes and department wide deliverables and initiatives in areas such as Annual Audit Planning, Audit Risk Assessment, Continuous Monitoring, Skills Assessment and Audit Issues Management and Trending Analysis.
• Utilize internal systems, data repositories and analytical tools to execute operational activities, perform analysis and produce management and operational reporting on large datasets with a focus on data quality and integrity.
• Proactively monitor changes to the business environment for impacts to initiatives and updates to Audit Universe and Plan.
• Assist with maintenance and support of Audit systems and drive enhancements for simplicity, automation and efficiency to meet stakeholder needs.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business partners and the extended Audit group.
• Prepare recurring department, senior management and Board deliverables and reporting, and communicate results to stakeholders.
