Job summary

Carr, Riggs & Ingram is seeking a Senior Associate in Audit in Metairie, LA. You will perform diversified auditing tasks under supervision, participate in client engagement planning, and prepare working papers in compliance with GAAP.

The role requires CPA eligibility, strong communication, and the ability to work well in a team. Public accounting experience and proficiency with accounting software are essential.

Qualifications

  • Meets all requirements to sit for CPA exam.
  • CPA certification will be given preference.
  • Minimum of 3 years in public accounting with escalating responsibilities in auditing and accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under direction of supervisor and manager.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements.
  • Prepares and indexes working papers; performs GAAP procedures to verify client financial matters.
  • Begins to develop understanding of GAAP and related principles.
  • Develops understanding of auditing standards and procedures.
  • Communicates with clients to obtain information for engagements with minimal disruption.

Senior Associate, Audit

Essential Functions
  • Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor and manager
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Prepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters
  • Begins to develop a command of GAAP, other comprehensive bases of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations
  • Obtains a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
  • Effectively communicates with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to client
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks as well as having in charged engagements
  • Proficiency in accounting software

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
