AMS Staffing Inc. is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join its premier South Florida maritime defense litigation team in Miami.

The role offers meaningful responsibility, direct client contact, and opportunities to work on high-profile matters for Fortune 500 clients. The attorney will manage civil litigation in admiralty and maritime matters, with a transition from full-time in-office to a hybrid schedule after 60 days, including three days in office and two days remote per week.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Florida Bar in good standing.
  • 4–7 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Maritime or admiralty law experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing litigation with limited supervision.
  • Excellent research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maritime and insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and other members of the litigation team.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery requests, legal memoranda, and other case-related documents.
  • Conduct complex legal research and prepare detailed case analyses.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
  • Assist with appellate briefing and related legal proceedings.
  • Oversee case management and ensure compliance with court deadlines and client-reporting requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior attorneys, paralegals, and other members of the case team.
  • Maintain the firm’s standards for quality, responsiveness, professionalism, and client service.

Work Environment: Hybrid – Fully on-site for the first 60 days, followed by three days in the office and two days remote each week

Job Description:

A premier South Florida maritime defense law firm is seeking two experienced Senior Associate Attorneys to join its highly respected litigation team. This is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys interested in handling sophisticated litigation and developing advanced trial skills while working alongside accomplished maritime practitioners.

The firm’s practice focuses on admiralty and maritime matters, including civil litigation, arbitration, and appellate work in both state and federal courts. Senior Associates receive meaningful case responsibility, direct client interaction, mentorship, and the opportunity to work on high-profile matters for Fortune 500 companies and internationally recognized clients.

The selected attorneys will work fully in the office during their first 60 days to become familiar with the firm’s cases, processes, and protocols. After successfully completing the initial 60-day period, they will transition to a hybrid schedule consisting of three days in the office and two days working remotely each week.

  • Experience managing litigation matters with limited supervision.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Deposition, hearing, mediation, arbitration, or trial experience.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work fully on-site for the first 60 days and follow a three-day in-office/two-day remote schedule thereafter.
