We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. Schuering & Doyle, LLP has significant depth in civil litigation, with experienced trial attorneys handling complex matters. Practice areas include medical malpractice defense, medical professional advocacy, elder abuse defense, general civil defense, insurance bad faith defense, public entity defense, legal malpractice defense, and alternative dispute resolution. Team members collaborate closely to provide strategic representation and strong advocacy across these diverse practice areas.Role Description The Senior Associate Attorney will manage a diverse caseload, including medical malpractice, civil defense, and related litigation matters, from initial intake through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence, as well as preparing for and attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials. The role involves advising clients on legal strategy, assessing case risks, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with partners, associates, and staff to ensure effective case management. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Sacramento, CA, with a mix of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility.QualificationsStrong foundation in Law, with experience handling complex civil litigation matters and providing Legal Advice to clients.

• Demonstrated proficiency in research, including case law analysis, statute interpretation, and preparation of memoranda and briefs.
• Effective negotiation skills for settlement discussions, mediation, and client representation in alternative dispute resolution.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
