Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

We're excited that you're considering joining us at Law Mom as a Senior Associate Trusts and Estates Attorney based in Newburyport, Massachusetts. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced attorney to step into a high-level role, providing expert estate planning services to our valued clients. This is an in-office position where you’ll be working alongside a collaborative team and will have the chance to lead, mentor, and make an immediate impact.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide legal counsel to high-net-worth individuals and families on trusts, wills, probate, and related matters.
Lead and manage complex estate planning, probate, and administration cases.
Draft and review estate planning documents with precision and care using Wealth Counsel software.
Jump in on sophisticated trust and estate issues and collaborate with our legal team to provide the best outcomes for our clients.
Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
Engage with clients directly to understand their needs, build lasting relationships, and maintain a high level of trust and confidentiality.
Execute and handle client-facing design meetings.
Answer client questions with ease and knowledge.
Answer legal team questions with ease and knowledge.
Manage and oversee paralegals.
Ensure legal staff is supported in meeting KPI requirements.
Host webinars and workshops within the community (min. 2 nights a month required).

You're Probably a Match If You Have

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Massachusetts Bar and NH Bar is a plus!
A minimum of 5+ years of sophisticated experience in trusts and estates law.
Elder Law experience preferred.
Expertise in estate planning, trusts, probate law, and taxation related to estate matters.
Proficiency with Wealth Counsel is a must.
A tech-savvy mindset and the ability to learn and use legal technology effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and approachable manner.
A desire to mentor, lead, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Excellent bedside manner.
Excellent knowledge of income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax matters.
Plus, if you know tax return preparation.
LLM in taxation is preferred.
