Business Unit Overview:

Our Agency distribution system is the backbone and a key differentiator of New York Life, where dedicated individuals like you support our field force and connect with clients, helping build lifelong relationships. Your work enables agents with the necessary tools, training, and support to succeed, fostering financial security for many and contributing to our business growth.

Role Overview:

African American Market Field Directors are responsible for executing programs aimed at increasing the company's market share within African American segments. They collaborate with their counterparts to expand the company's presence in these communities, working within a team of dedicated remote professionals to implement targeted programs and processes that enhance our position within key market segments.

This role primarily supports the Northeast, Pacific, and West Central Zone offices. The ideal candidate's location should be within these zones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and engage Center of Influence (CI) contacts locally and regionally.
  • Help develop strategic Points of Access (POAs) with regional and national organizations.
  • Conduct Office (GO) training focusing on NYL’s Protection First Holistic Advice and Guidance (PFHA&G), MBS Macro Balance Strategy, and tools.
  • Facilitate strategic connections with other Field Resource Teams.
  • Organize and host webinars to drive productivity.
  • Support the Agent Mentor Program by identifying potential mentors and encouraging engagement.
  • Assist in Financial Education workshops by acting as an instructor.
  • Build strong relationships within communities through collaborations with Field management teams and agents.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Required licenses: Life, Health, Series 6, and 63.
  • Thorough knowledge of life insurance sales, recruiting, and sales management systems, especially within the career agency model.
  • Understanding of marketing, prospecting, and recruiting strategies to penetrate and grow market segments.
  • Familiarity with the sales cycle, core processes, programs, and tools within the agency environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: $77,500 - $95,000

Overtime eligible: Yes (Exempt)

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Base salary depends on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and incentive programs.

Additional Requirements:

This role requires FINRA licensing and/or pre-hire fingerprinting.
