September 2026|Scottsdale Arizona|Full time

ABOUT KINLINE

Kinline is a forward-thinking CPA firm that provides outsourced accounting and advisory support to small and middle-market companies across the United States. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the firm serves a diverse client base that includes investor-backed, venture-backed, private equity-backed, service-based, and technology-oriented businesses. Founded in 2021, Kinline continues to grow while maintaining a small, entrepreneurial culture built around exceptional client service, technical accuracy, practical problem solving, and thoughtful use of technology.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Kinline is hiring an Accounting Associate or Senior Associate to support a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients. The person in this role will contribute to monthly close and reporting, maintain accurate accounting records, communicate directly with clients, and help improve recurring processes. The position may be filled at the Associate or Senior Associate level based on the candidate's experience, technical proficiency, and ability to independently own client work.

A Senior Associate will take greater ownership of close and reporting workflows, resolve more complex accounting issues, and may review selected work or help newer team members learn Kinline's processes. At either level, the right person will be accurate, responsive, organized, and comfortable asking questions while developing sound professional judgment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and support management with variance, trend, and budget-to-actual analysis.
  • Record and reconcile account activity, prepare journal entries, and maintain accurate month-end workpapers and supporting schedules.
  • Complete assigned month-end close tasks on schedule and communicate progress, questions, and potential issues early.
  • Maintain charts of accounts and help ensure transactions are classified in the appropriate accounts and periods.
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, expense management, vendor maintenance, and annual 1099 reporting.
  • Respond to client questions professionally, research accounting issues, and work with managers to resolve or elevate them appropriately.
  • Support accounting cleanup, reporting improvements, system implementations, and other client advisory projects.
  • Use QuickBooks Online, Karbon, and related technology to maintain clear workflows, documentation, deadlines, and client-specific knowledge.
  • Identify practical opportunities to make recurring work more accurate, consistent, and efficient.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • At least two years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting, outsourced accounting, CAS, or other multi-client experience is preferred. Candidates with approximately three or more years of experience and demonstrated ability to own client work may be considered at the Senior Associate level.
  • Strong foundation in accrual accounting, financial statements, month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, AP, AR, and payroll-related accounting.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online. Experience with Bill.com, Expensify, Gusto, Karbon, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain questions and accounting matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-moving client service environment.
  • CPA or active progress toward CPA licensure is a plus but is not required.
  • Ability to work from Kinline's Scottsdale office as part of the firm's hybrid schedule.
THE RIGHT FIT

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys variety, wants meaningful client exposure, and is ready to grow with a developing firm. Kinline values people who take ownership, follow through on commitments, care deeply about client service, and are willing to help wherever needed. The right candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation and an interest in building the judgment, confidence, and advisory skills needed for continued advancement.

WHAT KINLINE OFFERS
  • Hybrid schedule with up to six remote workdays per month after the first 60 days.
  • A $500 monthly health insurance allowance.
  • 401(k) plan with a safe harbor employer match.
