Job summary

Meridian Capital Group is seeking a full-time Senior Associate / Vice President to join a dynamic, growing group supporting a team of Brokers. The person will assist with underwriting, structuring, and execution of commercial real estate debt transactions across asset classes and business plans, including stabilized assets, value-add investments, new construction, and redevelopment opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance or related financial analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Excellent written communication for loan submissions and client-facing materials.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated team player.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Managing Directors to develop financing strategies and manage client relationships.
  • Lead lender outreach and negotiate terms aligned with client objectives.
  • Underwrite and assist in the placement of CRE debt transactions.
  • Evaluate loan requests across capital structure (senior debt, mezzanine, bridge, preferred equity).
  • Analyze property cash flows, DSCR, leverage, and loan sizing.
  • Build financial models in Excel.
  • Prepare comprehensive loan submissions for lenders.
  • Coordinate transactions with due diligence, lender feedback, and closing deliverables.
  • Review legal documents, third-party reports, rent rolls, operating statements, and borrower financials.
  • Prepare market analyses of vacancy, absorption, rents and sales.
  • Work with lenders and borrowers on loan structures and qualifications.
  • Build relationships with clients and lenders; participate in networking events.

Job description

Meridian Capital Group is seeking a full-time Senior Associate / Vice President to join a dynamic, growing group supporting a team of Brokers. The person will assist with the underwriting, structuring, and execution of commercial real estate debt transactions across a variety of asset classes and business plans, including stabilized assets, value-add investments, new construction, and redevelopment opportunities. This role will work closely with Brokers and gain exposure to borrowers, lenders, and live transactions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Partner with Managing Directors to develop financing strategies while independently managing existing client relationships and transaction execution, allowing senior leadership to focus on new business development
  • Lead lender outreach and financing discussions, sourcing competitive debt solutions and negotiating terms that align with client objectives
  • Underwrite and assist in the placement of commercial real estate debt transactions
  • Evaluate loan requests across the capital structure, including senior debt, mezzanine financing, bridge financing, and preferred equity opportunities
  • Analyze property cash flows, debt service coverage, leverage metrics, and loan sizing across multiple financing scenarios
  • Build and maintain financial models in Excel
  • Prepare comprehensive loan submissions, including clear, accurate, and professionally written deal packages for lenders
  • Coordinate active transactions by managing due diligence items, lender feedback, deadlines, and closing deliverables
  • Review and analyze legal documents, third-party reports, rent rolls, operating statements, and borrower financial information
  • Prepare market analysis reports, including vacancy, absorption, and comparable rents and sales
  • Work closely and confidentially with lenders and borrowers regarding loan structures, financing options, and qualification requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients and lenders
  • Participate in networking through professional, business and community organizations and activities
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, underwriting or a related financial analysis role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
  • Well organized, with strong time management skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills required, including the ability to prepare polished loan submissions, investment memos, and client-facing materials
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented

Meridian provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000+ depending on the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications.
