Job summary

The Dallas office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 4+ years’ experience in civil litigation to join the Casualty section. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and strong communication.

The attorney will handle day‑to‑day matters with partner oversight, including client meetings, reporting, discovery, and depositions, plus hearings, mediations and trials.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil litigation experience.

• Experience with complex personal injury litigation preferred.

Job description

The Dallas office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 4+ years’ experience in civil litigation to join the Casualty section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and excellent communication skills. Litigation experience is preferred, and previous experience with complex personal injury litigation, client and insurance carrier reporting, and billing hours is strongly preferred. Valid Texas Bar license required.

The attorney in this position will defend a variety of casualty cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, dram shop, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries or property damage. The attorney will handle the day-today aspects of these cases with partner oversight, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, discovery and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, independent and motivated to gain hands-on litigation experience in a fast paced yet collaborative and collegial environment.
