About HSG

Highland Strategy Group is a boutique strategy consulting firm based in Boston, MA. Founded in early 2021, HSG has seen significant growth and is actively seeking to expand our team of Consultants to support this growth. While we typically prefer to promote from within, we simply cannot keep up with demand and want to capitalize on future growth opportunities.

At HSG, you’ll work alongside other motivated and intelligent individuals, gaining hands‑on experience and direct client exposure from day one. We emphasize career progression and provide significant upward career mobility within our growing organization. We strive to create a work environment that empowers employees to succeed while supporting work‑life balance. Unlike many consulting firms, travel is extremely limited, allowing you to focus on building strong in‑person connections on a daily basis.

Why Highland Strategy Group?
  • Contribute to the success and growth of a rapidly scaling company and make an immediate impact
  • Take an active role in shaping firm culture and fostering a collaborative, collegial work environment
  • High‑profile engagements with leading private equity firms, PE‑backed companies, and investment banks
  • Exposure to a wide variety of industries, companies, and problem‑solving opportunities
  • Immersive learning opportunities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Opportunities for personal growth and career development – we are actively looking to promote from within and cultivate internal talent
Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package that rewards strong performance and career development through mentorship and coaching opportunities. As a growing company, we want contributors to see the fruits of their labor, and as such, we offer annual profit‑sharing distributions.

In addition, we offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family, 401(k) savings plan with company matching, flexible vacation policy, life and disability insurance, parental leave, wellness/gym reimbursement, and more.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you will serve as a key project contributor for addressing client issues & goals, executing research workstreams, and conducting in depth analyses. Specifically, in this role you will:

  • Understand client's goals, effectively work with teams, and "ask the right questions" to get at the heart of key project issues by drawing conclusions from our research
  • Develop as a subject matter expert (SME) for client and internal team
  • Execute research plans and conduct interviews with leading industry experts
  • Write, design, and program quantitative online surveys
  • Execute analyses with both quantitative and qualitative data in Excel
  • Structure and develop well‑formatted quantitative and qualitative client deliverables in PPT
  • Provide development opportunities, mentorship, and training to other junior team members
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have 1‑3 years of directly relevant experience (i.e., strategy consulting firm, strategic planning / corporate strategy / corporate development group, or private equity / venture capital / investment banking firm)
  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic excellence
  • Deep strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Strong research (primary and secondary) skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
