Job summary

Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD seeks a full-time Senior Assistant Golf Professional to lead Golf Operations, deliver exceptional member experiences, and advance championship golf programs. You will manage tournaments, mentor staff, coordinate instruction at the Golf Performance Center, and partner with Food & Beverage and other departments to deliver seamless service for Members and guests.

PGA membership or progress through PGA PGM is preferred.

• Pro golf operations experience in private clubs.
• Passion for golf, instruction, tournaments, and member experience.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a full-time Senior Assistant Golf Professional to join our Golf Operations team. This is an opportunity for an experienced golf professional who is ready to take on meaningful leadership responsibilities, continue developing their business and operational knowledge, and play an important role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for our Members and guests.

What You’ll Do

Golf Operations & Member Experience

• Lead and support tournaments, outings, and special golf events for an active and engaged membership.
• Build strong relationships with Members through daily interaction, on-course engagement, and exceptional service.
• Support and enhance Junior, Ladies', and Men's golf programs.
• Provide individual and group instruction utilizing our state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center.
• Contribute to retail, buying, merchandising, and inventory management within our nationally recognized Golf Shop.
• Assist with budgeting, accounting, quarterly inventories, financial tracking, and special operational projects.
• Partner with Food & Beverage, TME, Golf Course & Grounds, and other departments to create a seamless Member experience.
• Participate in major championship preparation and execution, including the 2027 KPMG Women’s Championship.

Leadership & Team Development

• Help lead the daily Golf Operations team and oversee the weekly professional staff schedule.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing Golf and Outside Services team members.
• Oversee key areas of the equipment and hard goods business.
• Support payroll processing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Participate in Golf Committee meetings and other Club-wide leadership initiatives.
• Mentor interns, apprentices, and developing golf professionals.
• Serve as a leader and role model who strengthens teamwork, accountability, and our Club culture.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous professional golf operations experience with a strong understanding of private club service.
• A passion for golf, instruction, tournament operations, and creating exceptional Member experiences.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to coach, mentor, and develop others.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to remain composed and professional in a fast‑paced environment.
• A team‑first mindset and willingness to contribute wherever needed.
• A desire to continue learning and advancing within the golf industry.
• PGA membership or active progress through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program preferred.
