Job summary

The Rockland County Office of the County Attorney seeks a candidate to perform transactional legal work of a routine moderate to complex nature representing the County of Rockland. The candidate will handle independent legal work on diverse issues, including research, drafting contracts, deeds, affidavits, and notices, with attention to legal sufficiency and accuracy.

This position reports directly to the Chief Assistant County Attorney and involves advising the Office of the County Executive,

Qualifications

Must hold a license to practice law in New York State and be in good standing.
Public officer residency requirements and United States citizenship considerations.
Experience handling budget, finance, real estate matters a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice to the Office of the County Executive, County Legislature, and elected officials.
Draft contracts, agreements, deeds, affidavits, and other legal documents; review for completeness and accuracy.
Represent the County in a range of legal matters and supervise staff when assigned.
Attend public hearings, board meetings, and conferences related to County business.
