Job summary

CHAI in Baltimore seeks a Senior Asset Manager to oversee owner-level performance of affordable housing communities. You will analyze financials, set long-term plans, and coordinate with lenders, regulators, and management partners to keep properties financially healthy and compliant.

This role emphasizes risk management, portfolio performance, and preservation planning, offering influence over capital decisions and strategic direction for CHAI’s housing portfolio.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in affordable housing asset management.
• Knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, PRAC, HOME or similar programs.
• Strong financial analysis skills including budgeting, variance analysis, cash flow review, and capital planning.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor the financial, operational, compliance, and physical performance of CHAI’s affordable housing portfolio.
• Review financial statements, budgets, occupancy trends, delinquency reports, and other KPIs to identify risks and opportunities.
• Oversee third-party property management performance and set expectations with management.
• Lead asset management meetings and track progress on issues and action plans.
• Support capital planning, reserve management, refinancing, recapitalization, rehabilitation, and preservation efforts.
• Monitor compliance reporting to lenders, investors, regulators, and others.
• Conduct property visits and collaborate with partners to support portfolio performance and CHAI’s mission.
