Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL seeks a Senior Accountant to support fixed assets and leases under U.S. GAAP (ASC 360/842). You will collaborate across Real Estate, Procurement, FP&A, and regional teams to ensure accurate capitalization, lease data, and financial reporting.

The role is full-time with hybrid work (3 days on-site) at our Northbrook office. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, strong Excel and ERP experience, and CPA progress is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with fixed assets/leases.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge with ASC 360/842 experience.
• Experience with ERP and fixed asset subledger; Oracle a plus.
• Familiar with lease accounting software such as LeaseCalcs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor capital projects and capitalization in asset register.
• Coordinate fixed asset cycle counts and investigate exceptions.
• Prepare and post journal entries for asset activity.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and data integrity.
• Support lease accounting under ASC 842 for global operations.
• Evaluate lease terms, modifications, and reassessments.
• Administer lease system data and governance.
