Job summary

Lunar Outpost in Golden, CO seeks a Senior Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineer to support AI&T efforts on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services program. The role focuses on planning and executing test campaigns, developing testbeds, and ensuring timely delivery for a NASA-grade lunar platform.

Responsibilities include designing and prototyping test platforms, creating schedules, and documenting tests from component to vehicle level, with strong emphasis on collaboration and rigorous quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience leading and executing engineering test efforts to support verification and validation.
• Familiarity with NASA AI&T standards (SMC-S-016, NASA-STD-8739).
• Strong test documentation writing skills (plans, procedures, reports).
• Excellent organization and time management skills.

As a Senior Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineer for the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services (LTVS) program, you will be responsible for supporting the Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) team in planning and executing test and qualification campaigns, facilitating development, execution, and reporting of Integrated Product Teams (IPT) testing, and developing and operating various vehicle testbed and prototype platforms.

Take the #NextLeap with Lunar Outpost and work on the Pegasus LTV, which will carry NASA astronauts farther than they've ever been before on the lunar surface!

Working Conditions / Schedule: This position is required to be onsite Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Where applicable, employees may work remotely on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, develop, refine, and map test requirements to test plans and procedures and their appropriate test reports
• Planand execut e component subassembly and subsystem qualification campaigns
• Leadefforts todesign, build, and testdedicated vehicle test platforms and prototypes
• Lead development of qualification and test campaign schedulesin accordance with the AI&T Planand execute campaigns on schedule to drive program progress
• Write test procedures and processes to support qualification at the component, subsystem, and vehicle level
• Provide expert inputs to program schedules and budgets as well as regular status of campaign execution

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 4–8 years of experience in developing and executingtestand qualificationcampaigns for NASA ClassA and/or human-rated vehicles
• Experience as a systems engineer or acting in a systems engineering role in support of a cislunar or lunar spaceflight mission
• Demonstrated experience leading and executing engineering test efforts to support requirement verification and validation
• Familiarity with NASA standards for AI&T that cover testing, qualification, workmanship, etc. ( i.e. SMC-S-016, NASA-STD-8739)
• Clear understanding of NASA verification and validation processes
• Strong test documentation writing skills, such as test plans, procedures, reports, etc.
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes and best practices
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Project
• Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to execute cross-disciplinary engineering from a systems perspective, in areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Software, etc.
• Familiarity with executing human hazard assessments to support NASA Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
• Experience testing and/or qualifying vehicle mobility systems, such as suspensions, drivetrains, wheels/tires, etc.
• Experience with designing and building unique test support equipment, such as offload rigs, mechanism actuators, structure mockups, etc.
• Familiarity with Python scripting
• Familiarity with Atlassian suite (JIRA/Confluence), JAMA for requirement generation and tracking
