Marathon Petroleum is seeking an engineer to join the Asphalt Value Chain team in Tempe, AZ. The role supports product development, commercial activities, production, quality control, customer satisfaction and economic optimization of asphalt and heavy oil products.

The position is part of a job family with multiple grades; place at level commensurate with experience. Requires a bachelor’s in engineering, science or chemistry and at least four years in the industry. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Chemistry, or related discipline required.
• Four (4) years of industry related experience.
• Strong technical and communication skills; able to translate complex ideas.

Responsabilités

• Oversee quality control standards and investigations related to quality incidents.
• Maintain technical expertise on asphalt binder, emulsions, hot mix asphalt and roofing.
• Engage with industry partners and government agencies; build relations with workgroups.
• Respond to technical issues regarding product specifications and performance.
