Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates is seeking a Senior ASP.NET/C# Developer to design, code, test, and maintain business applications using Microsoft technologies in a hybrid environment based in Sparks, MD and Annapolis Junction, MD.

You will develop and support web applications, modernize legacy ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC apps, implement APIs, optimize SQL Server queries, and follow secure coding practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/IT.
• Seven or more years of professional experience with C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, NET Core, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with WPF is a plus.

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates is seeking an experienced Senior ASP.NET / C# Developer to develop, enhance, and support business applications using Microsoft technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using ASP.NET, C#, and SQL Server.
• Support and modernize existing ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC applications.
• Develop application features, APIs, integrations, reports, and internal tools.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-access code.
• Troubleshoot application, database, and production issues.
• Collaborate with business users and technical teams to define and implement solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and technical documentation.
• Follow secure coding and software-development best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Seven or more years of professional experience developing applications with C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, NET Core, and Core API.
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with WPF is a plus.
• Strong SQL Server and database-development skills.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with Git or another source-control system.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation, with the ability to review AI-generated output for accuracy, security, and maintainability.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps, including IIS, SSL, Windows Server, and application deployment.
• Experience with Telerik, Syncfusion, Microsoft Graph, or third-party system integrations.
• Experience modernizing legacy business applications.
