Job summary

Priority Waste Resources LLC in Saginaw, MI is seeking a Heavy Duty Machinery Master Mechanic to repair and maintain refuse vehicles and heavy machinery including brakes, hydraulics, engines, and control systems. The role starts at $40–$50 per hour and requires at least two years of heavy-duty technician experience.

Responsibilities include engine work, welding, diagnostics, DOT support, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
• ASE Certifications are a plus but not required.
• Minimum two years experience as a heavy-duty technician.
• Must be able to perform basic inspections of brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, transmissions, general engine, steering and suspension.

Responsibilities

• Keeps up on maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Performs engine repair and maintenance
• Performs welding and fabrication
• Scans trucks and troubleshoots mechanical issues using electronic tools
• Performs electrical repairs
• Assists with DOT inspections
• Completes oil changes and greasing trucks/equipment
• Repairs tires, including replacement when necessary
• Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles to enable minimal downtime
• Safely executes road service calls when necessary to ensure the equipment is being returned in a safe manner
• Troubleshoots emissions issues
• Actively problem solves
• Executes work orders and turns into Maintenance Supervisor for company records
