Job summary

Priority Waste Resources LLC is seeking a Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic in Sterling Heights, MI. The role involves repairs and maintenance on refuse vehicles and heavy machinery, including brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Competitive starting pay begins at $40/hour.

The successful candidate will perform diagnostics, welding, DOT support, oil changes, tire repairs, and ensure safe equipment operation. CDL is a plus; ASE certs are valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years experience as a heavy-duty technician.
• Experience with maintenance on refuse trucks and heavy machinery.
• Able to read and follow work orders and labor time standards.
• Basic inspections of brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, transmissions, engine, steering and suspension.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on refuse vehicles and heavy machinery.
• Engage in welding and fabrication as needed.
• Scan trucks and troubleshoot with electronic tools.
• Perform electrical repairs and assist with DOT inspections.
• Complete oil changes and greasing; repair tires as needed.
• Safely perform road service calls and ensure safe return of equipment.
