Job summary

Aquent invites a visionary Art Director to shape the future of consumer retail experiences for a global athletic brand. You will lead end-to-end retail concepts, create immersive environments, and guide junior designers while collaborating across internal and external teams to meet timelines and budgets.

You will drive storytelling across the portfolio, establish design standards, and apply emerging technologies to enhance consumer engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of brand design experience, including at least 3 years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic design, architecture, interior design, or related field.
• Strong retail industry experience with concepts and programs.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including presentations to senior teams.
• Proficiency in sketching ideas and visually communicating concepts.
• Passion for trends in technology, design, interactive and experience design.
• Positive attitude with ability to adapt to changing business needs.
• A strong portfolio showcasing work is required for review.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to final delivery for innovative retail displays and digital solutions.
• Provide leadership development and design direction to junior designers.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage multiple projects within timelines and budgets.
• Craft and evolve compelling retail storytelling across the portfolio.
• Develop comprehensive creative direction and maintain implementation standards.
• Oversee a team, balancing consumer needs, brand integrity and partner objectives.
• Communicate and present complex design concepts with impactful materials.
• Drive design excellence and cross-project collaboration with long-term goals.
• Leverage emerging tech to build impactful spaces enhancing engagement.
• Work across Environmental Graphic Design, Fixtures, Materials, and Digital design.
