Job description

Engrain builds map-based tech that’s redefining how real estate works. Our interactive, unit-level maps and powerful data integrations help over 1,000 companies—and 30,000 properties—to make smarter decisions, streamline leasing, and deliver better renter experiences. From prospect to renewal, our products give properties a spatial brain and a visual edge when it comes to property marketing and management. And it’s working: our churn rate is just 5%, and we’ve been putting up double-digit growth numbers every year.

We’re not your typical proptech company. We move fast, we stay curious, and we don’t do stale or corporate fluff. Backed by successful Seed and Series A rounds, we’re entering a phase of serious scale.

Engrain empowers prospective renters to explore, evaluate, and navigate apartment communities with confidence. For owners and operators, Engrain drives smarter pricing, faster leasing velocity, and more informed property design.

As our Senior Art Director, you will be the hands-on visual lead responsible for maintaining, executing, and elevating our brand across all marketing channels. This role is ideal for a talented, detail-obsessed designer who thrives on converting complex technical concepts into clean, compelling visual assets. Reporting into marketing leadership, you will execute high-impact design projects, direct visual content, and build scalable asset systems that support our sales team and drive growth.

What you’ll do
  • Brand Execution & Maintenance: Apply established brand guidelines across all collateral, digital assets, and event spaces (e.g., trade show booths, digital ad campaigns, pitch decks) while ensuring high visual consistency.
  • Sales Collateral Design: Design, update, and maintain a library of sales sheets, product overviews, and case studies that balance complex product information with clear grid structures and typography.
  • Pitch & Deck Design: Collaborate with marketing and revenue leads to design pitch decks and presentation templates that communicate value clearly and support the sales cycle.
  • Data Visualization & Layout: Translate complex spreadsheets, feature lists, and software workflows into clear, visually engaging diagrams, charts, and graphics.
  • Visual Quality Control: Review outbound marketing collateral for design alignment, layout balance, formatting consistency, and visual polish prior to release.
  • Asset Curation & Direction: Source, curate, and edit visual imagery, UI screenshots, and graphic elements that reflect a clean, modern B2B tech aesthetic.
  • Template & System Building: Develop reusable design templates, UI component libraries for marketing, and brand toolkits in Figma and Adobe CS to help the team scale production efficiently.

  • AI & Workflow Efficiency: Comfort using AI-driven tools to streamline asset production, image generation, or workflow speed.
  • Strong Layout & Typography Skills: High attention to detail regarding grid discipline, spatial balance, visual hierarchy, and copy integration.
  • Tech & Product Literacy: Ability to understand software features and translate technical workflows into clean, digestible visual assets.
