The Job

You are a hands-on creative leader with deep expertise inmotion design, video editing, and storytelling through gameplay footage. You’re fluent in the visual language of gaming and know how to build emotional and visually powerful moments using in-game footage, animation, and layered visual techniques. You lead by doing—not just directing—bringing a strong visual voice and refined craftsmanship to every asset.

You have a sharp eye for animation and editing detail, a strong sense of timing and pacing, and a passion for elevating creative with strategic intent. You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with capture artists, designers, editors, and marketers to bring big ideas to life. You are energized by trailers, social, launch ads, and lore drops—and you’re comfortable jumping into Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Unity and Unreal to make them better.

As aSenior Art Director, you lead a multidisciplinary team to create high-impact, game-driven content across paid media, social, trailers, and in-world storytelling. You concept, direct, and execute video and motion work, often working directly within-game capture, pre-rendered assets, and creative technology. You’re accountable for the visual and narrative quality of campaign creative—from 6-second social edits to 2-minute gameplay trailers.

This role reports to theSr. Director of Creative and partners closely with marketing, user acquisition, and studio partners to ensure brand-aligned, visually stunning content that drives engagement and performance across our DC, Harry Potter, Mortal Combat and Game of Thrones franchises.

The Daily

• Lead and contribute hands-on tomotion design, editing, and art directionacross trailers, social campaigns, ads, and in-game promotions.
• Own and refine thevision for video and motion-based projects, ensuring storytelling, pacing, and tone are aligned with each game's identity.
• Collaborate with internalgame capture artists and editorsto define shot lists, cinematic moments, and visual hooks.
• Create and presentstoryboards, animatics, and visual referencesto communicate creative direction.
• Manage and mentor a team of designers, editors, and motion artists—providing actionable feedback and creative guidance.
• Partner with the Sr. Director of Creative to evolve the visual language of each campaign and bring brand stories to life.
• Ensure all creative aligns withmarketing strategy, platform best practices, and brand guidelines.
• Stay ahead of platform trends (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and gaming culture to evolve storytelling formats.
• Maintain high-quality standards while balancing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-output environment.

The Essentials

• Mastery ofAdobe Creative Suite—especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop.
• Proven ability toedit high-performance trailers, ads, and motion graphicsfor digital, social, and UA channels.
• An understanding ofgame capture workflows, including working withUnreal Engine and/or Unity.
• Proficiency inmotion design and compositingusing After Effects, with solid visual effects, typography, and layout skills.
• Experience working within-engine footage, dev tools, debug modes, and capturing cinematic sequences.
• Familiarity with audio syncing, pacing for performance, and storytelling through gameplay and UI footage.
• Experience with3D toolssuch as Cinema 4D, Blender, or Maya a plus.
• Clear communicator with strong presentation skills; able to articulate visual decisions with context.
• “Lead by example” style—always willing to jump into the work to push the team forward.
• Excellent at managing feedback loops between marketing, creative, and studios.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage shifting priorities.
• Curious and experimental—eager to test new formats, styles, and technologies.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $119,700.00 - $222,300.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
