Senior Army Cyber Systems Engineering Lead
Location: Fort Belvoir, Virginia | Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Position Summary
We are seeking a senior Systems Engineering Lead to provide enterprise level technical integration for a prospective Army cyber program. This position keeps requirements, architecture, cybersecurity, software, infrastructure, test, fielding, and sustainment aligned to mission outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Lead systems engineering planning, technical governance, and integration across complex Army cyber capabilities, systems, and technical environments.
- Analyze, decompose, allocate, and manage operational and technical requirements with traceability from mission need through fielding.
- Maintain system and enterprise architectures, interfaces, interoperability requirements, dependencies, configuration, and technical baselines.
- Assist management in defining project scope and sequencing engineering/integration objectives.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated technical solutions across software, hardware, networks, cloud, data, AI/ML, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, test, infrastructure, and operational environments.
- Conduct trade studies, alternatives analysis, technical risk assessments, design evaluations, and technical reviews.
- Integrate software, hardware, networks, cloud, data, AI/ML, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, test, product support, and operational requirements.
- Advance Agile engineering through incremental planning, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, rapid feedback, and disciplined technical decision making.
- Guide responsible use of Government-approved AI and automation capabilities, including Claude for Government where authorized and appropriate, while maintaining technical validation, cybersecurity controls, data-handling requirements, and accountable engineering decisions.
- Support verification, validation, integration testing, operational assessment, release planning, deployment, fielding, modernization, technical refresh, and sustainment activities throughout the system lifecycle.
- Provide senior technical leadership across engineering reviews, configuration control boards, architecture discussions, technical baseline decisions, and other Government engineering forums.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship, active Top Secret clearance, and eligibility for SCI access.
- Eight or more years of directly relevant systems engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent additional professional experience.
- Systems engineering leadership for complex Army, Department of War, cyber, or software intensive programs.
- Experience with requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, technical baselines, configuration, verification, validation, test, fielding, and technical risk.
- Experience integrating RMF and authorization requirements into engineering activities.
- Active CISSP and qualification for the assigned DoW 8140/DCWF work role at Advanced proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Army or broader Department of War experience supporting Offensive Cyberspace Operations, Defensive Cyberspace Operations, cyber capability development, or related mission programs.
- INCOSE CSEP or ESEP, CCSP, SecurityX, or advanced cloud architecture certification.
- Experience with Army cyber systems, cloud, Zero Trust, AI/ML, data platforms, model based systems engineering, DevSecOps, and automated testing.
