Job summary

LJC Design & Engineering, part of Clayco, seeks an experienced Senior Architectural Project Manager to grow its Phoenix presence. You will lead industrial pursuits, collaborate with Clayco teams, and guide project delivery across integrated disciplines.

You will recruit top talent, manage client relationships, and develop proposals while coordinating with senior leadership to win strategic opportunities. This role requires strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in architecture and design.
• Active Professional Registration, AZ or NCARB preferred.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD/Revit, GIS and 3D modeling tools, MS Office.
• Exemplary written and spoken communication skills.
• Comfort and poise presenting to external and internal audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship-building and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated Industrial pursuits with Clayco, guiding sales meetings and client visits.
• Recruit and develop top design talent across teams.
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities with the Clayco Industrial leadership team.
• Prepare proposals and fee analyses for senior leadership.
• Coordinate staffing and operations across LJC Industrial design leaders.
• Oversee design of complex projects and coordinate with contractors/engineers.
• Lead design teams on proposals for potential clients and manage team members.
• Support business development pursuits and win work.
• Develop thought leadership on Industrial topics.
• Represent LJC in design community events and civic activities.
• Advise on core councils and promote collaboration.
• Travel as required.

The Role We Want You For

As Senior Architectural Project Manager, you will enhance and assist the practice’s leadership team, helping it to grow and expand its Phoenix presence and portfolio through intentional project pursuits and client relationships. The Architecture staff is collaborative with colleagues and will work across LJC disciplines and parent company Clayco’s construction and real estate arms to complete projects that are vertically integrated in the enterprise.

The Specifics of the Role

• Serves as the point person for integrated Industrial pursuits with Claio, providing leadership for sales meetings, client visits, RFP pursuits, team management and project oversight.


• Actively leads recruiting efforts to attract and develop top industry design talent.


• Collaborates with fellow leaders in the Clayco Industrial leadership team to identify, pursue and secure new project opportunities for the enterprise.


• Prepares project proposals and fee analysis for review with LJC’s senior leadership team.


• Coordinates studio and project staffing and operations with fellow LJC Industrial design leaders.


• Oversees the design of complex projects and/or development of construction drawings for projects and serves as primary coordinator with contractors and consulting engineers.


• Leads design teams in developing proposals for potential clients; manages multiple team members.


• Capable of winning work and leading business development pursuits conversation.


• Responsible for developing thought leadership and subject matter expertise on Industrial subjects.


• Leads discussions in the local, regional, and national design community in white papers and speaking engagements.


• Represents LJC in the community and civic events.


• Practices LJC’s core values of integrity, humility, and fearlessness.


• Advises and guides LJC’s Core Councils (Culture, Integration, Practice, Process and Sustainability).


• Promotes and fosters a culture of one-team collaboration between and across offices.


• Travel, as required, to secure project opportunities and support client engagement on projects.

Requirements
