Job summary

The Southern Land Company in Nashville, TN is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to lead the design and documentation of high-end speculative and custom homes as well as small commercial structures. You will oversee client requirements, create Builder Set drawings, and ensure design standards and quality control across projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and 5+ years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited school.
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience in Single-Family architecture or Traditional Neighborhood Design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, coordinate, design and document high-end speculative and custom homes and small commercial structures.
• Develop schematic and design development drawings with client requirements.
• Produce clear Builder Set drawings reflecting the client’s vision within schedule and fees.
• Implement architectural standards, policies, and quality control.
• Mentor and train junior staff and coordinate with other departments.
• Maintain knowledge of building codes and zoning relevant to residential design.
