Job summary

HutkerArchitects in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Designer who blends exceptional design with technical expertise for custom residential projects. You will work closely with Principals and Associates, contributing to every phase from concept through construction and mentoring emerging designers.

You will develop schematic designs, documentation, and material selections while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure quality and code compliance across all project

Qualifications

• B.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited program.
• 8-10+ years of professional architectural experience in custom residential design.
• License preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
• Experience producing design and construction documentation across all project phases.
• Strong technical understanding of residential architecture, wood-frame construction, building codes, and construction administration.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
• Strong collaborative leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing team members.
• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp; hand sketching is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of custom residential project development, from permitting and early design through construction administration and project completion.
• Develop thoughtful design solutions and technical documentation that carry design intent through every stage of the project.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams, fostering strong communication and collaboration.

Working closely with Principals and Associates, you'll contribute to every phase of custom residential project development, build lasting client relationships, mentor emerging designers, and help shape exceptional homes from concept through construction.

$85,000 - $112,000 a year

This represents the full salary range for the position. Placement within the range is based on experience and qualifications. New hires are typically placed within the lower to middle portion of the range, with opportunities for salary growth as they develop in the role and advance within the firm.
