Responsibilities

• Develop architectural interior designs and construction documentation for residential and commercial projects
• Prepare detailed floor plans, elevations, and permit-ready drawing sets using AutoCAD
• Coordinate with other team members and subcontractors throughout the design-build process
• Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, constructability, and code compliance
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, construction observations, and project walkthroughs

Kari Whitman Interiors is a high-end residential and commercial architectural interior design-build firm known for exceptional design, quality construction, and innovative project execution. We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Interior Designer to join our team in Boulder, Colorado.

This position is ideal for a technically strong architectural designer with extensive experience producing construction documents, coordinating consultants, and managing projects from conceptual design through completion. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in AutoCAD, knowledgeable in elevations, schedules, code and permitting, and comfortable leading multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a fully in-office position in Boulder, CO. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities:

• Develop architectural interior designs and construction documentation for residential and commercial projects
• Prepare detailed floor plans, elevations, and permit-ready drawing sets using AutoCAD
• Coordinate with other team members and subcontractors throughout the design-build process
• Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications

Qualifications:

• Must have reliable transportation and personal laptop
• Comfortable working in a dog-friendly office environment
• Must be available to work full-time in our Boulder office

Compensation:

• $70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience
• Performance-based bonus opportunities

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Important: This position focuses on architectural design, drafting, construction documentation, and project coordination. It is not an interior decorating focused role.
