Job summary

Chinook Systems, Inc. in Arlington, VA, is seeking an Architectural Plan Reviewer and Code Inspector to enforce construction codes for government projects. You will conduct code reviews, inspections, and plan reviews for architectural and accessibility compliance across multiple concurrent efforts.

The role requires travel to client sites in the D.C. Metro Area, in-office days at the Arlington HQ, and a strong background with IBC/ADA standards, plus a Secret clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or architectural engineering from an NAAB/ABET-accredited school.
• At least 10 years with IBC and ADA/ABA accessibility standards.
• 5+ years managing people and project teams.
• Experience conducting architectural plans reviews including accessibility.
• Strong knowledge of ICC I-codes, NFPA, ABA, ASHRAE, ASME, ANSI.
• Must travel to client sites and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct code enforcement reviews, inspections, and plan reviews for architectural and accessibility compliance.
• Review construction feasibility and code compliance and provide comments.
• Address complaints, violations, disputes, and maintain records of violations and actions.
• Document deficiencies and prepare detailed reports with code references.
• Provide weekly briefings on status and observed deficiencies.
• Interpret and enforce construction codes to clients, contractors, architects, and engineers.
• Perform pre-construction site walks and as-built/redline reviews.
• Assist in code development and implementation and provide technical advice.
• Witness and document code compliance tests for various systems.
