Job summary

Coinbase is building the future of institutional trading as part of the Everything Exchange. As an Architect on the Trading team, you’ll design, build, and own core trading systems that power order and execution management, multi-venue connectivity, and low-latency messaging for Retail, Prime, and wholesale customers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on architect with ownership of complex distributed systems.
• Experience designing end-to-end trading platforms (OMS/EMS, multi-exchange connectivity).
• Proficiency in low-latency Java and high-throughput messaging.
• Experience delivering projects end-to-end: scoping, architecture, implementation, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of end-to-end trading platform components including sequencer, connectivity, and execution.
• Design low-latency, high-throughput systems for real-time financial products.
• Drive reliability, SLOs, observability, and incident response for latency-critical systems.
• Set technical standards and reduce critical debt through reviews and governance.
• Mentor teams to build resilient architectures and mitigates single points of failure.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Security, and Compliance to turn vision into a roadmap.
