Job summary

CRB is seeking a Senior Architect in Kansas City, MO, operating in a hybrid mode with in‑office presence three days per week. The role emphasizes design excellence, code compliance, and coordination across disciplines on complex life sciences and food & beverage projects.

The successful candidate will lead design development, produce construction documents, mentor staff, and serve as Architect of Record with licensure responsibilities where needed.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in architecture and licensure.
• Proficiency in construction documents, design development, and codes.
• Strong software skills including Revit and Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on projects with ability to execute all design phases, from programming to construction administration.
• Generate complex code analyses, life safety and egress plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, and details for large projects.
• Develop studies, presentations and reports for internal and external audiences.
• Research and apply International Building Code and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams to ensure constructible designs.
• Participate in drawing reviews, coordination meetings and quality checks.
• Assist PM with resource planning, budget/scope, and schedule adherence.
• Quality-check documents for complex projects and drive overall quality.
• Identify and resolve code, construction or design challenges.
• Develop architectural design presentations and mentor staff.
• Act as Architect of Record for projects; may include licensure responsibilities.

Education

Accredited Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch, and/or D.Arch) or Canadian / International equivalent
