Job summary

Planate Management Group seeks a Senior Architect/Engineer to lead construction oversight at the Miami VA Medical Center. You will ensure quality, cost, and schedule objectives while serving as a subject matter expert to government stakeholders on design and construction.

The role is contingent on contract award, with a one-year base duration and three optional years, and offers growth within a global planning, design, engineering and asset management firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 14 years related experience as alternative.
• Licensed Architect or Engineer in Florida required.
• Minimum 10 years managing large-scale construction projects.
• Experience with chiller plants in federal/healthcare facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, scheduling and cost management.
• Familiarity with VA standards, FAR, NFPA and OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction oversight, inspection and QA activities.
• Provide technical review of design documents, submittals and change orders.
• Monitor schedule, cost, and progress; recommend actions.
• Prepare progress, inspection, and construction reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders and government reps.
• Support budgeting and cost tracking of project activities.
• Lead meetings and manage project communication logs.
• Ensure compliance with VA, FAR, NFPA, OSHA codes.
• Mentor team members and provide senior technical guidance.
