Job summary

HDR Remodeling is seeking an Architect/Senior Designer to lead innovative residential designs from concept to signed construction agreements. You will guide clients through selections, manage complex projects, and collaborate with the team to meet aesthetic, functional, and budget goals.

You’ll handle on-site discovery, detailed drawings, and adherence to codes, while mentoring junior staff and supporting design-to-production handoffs with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience in high-end residential projects
• Design-build experience strongly preferred
• Proficient with CAD; AutoCAD LT is primary design software
• Renderings: plan, elevation and 3D views using Photoshop / Canva
• Authorized to work in the United States; reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site discovery and document existing structural, plumbing and electrical conditions
• Produce complete architectural sets: floor plans, elevations, 3D views
• Apply California Building Codes and Title 24 to move city review
• Guide clients through fixtures, finishes and budgets
• Develop and maintain project budgets with the Design Manager
• Prepare trade walk packets for subcontractor bidding
• Own cabinetry process from layout to delivery tracking
• Support design-to-production handoff and field installations
• Mentor junior designers on structural, code and planning considerations
