Job summary

ISG is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the Iowa architecture team, shape client relationships, and drive project success from concept to completion. The role blends design leadership with business acumen, offering ownership over growth and mentorship within a multidisciplinary network.

The candidate brings 10+ years of licensed architectural experience, a degree in architecture, and proficiency across Revit, Adobe, and SketchUp. This on-site opportunity is based in Waterloo, IA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional design experience and licensed to practice architecture.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited architecture program.
• Experience with K-12, Sports + Recreation, Government + Cultural projects is a plus.
• Ability to communicate ideas empathetically and visually in written and verbal form.
• Ability to represent ISG and clients in public forums.
• Familiarity with Revit, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp.
• Proven ability to multi-task and collaborate with diverse team members.

Essential Duties

• Lead the Iowa architecture team with ownership for its continued growth, development, and success while contributing to the broader direction of ISG’s architecture practice.
• Grow and strengthen client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs, expanding existing partnerships, and identifying new opportunities.
• Lead project and design efforts from initial concept through completion, bringing strong architectural judgment and a client-focused approach to every project.
• Build and develop your team by attracting talent, mentoring emerging professionals, delegating meaningful responsibility, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
• Own project performance, including budgets, work plans, contracts, quality control, and delivery while maintaining strong design standards.
• Leverage ISG’s multidisciplinary expertise to pursue innovative opportunities, collaborate across geographies, and deliver impactful solutions for clients and communities.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 10+ years of professional design experience and licensed to practice architecture
